Sean Dyche gives his honest verdict on Everton fans leaving early during Chelsea defeat

Sean Dyche has given his honest verdict on Everton’s fans leaving early during the Toffees’ 6-0 hammering by Chelsea.

It was a night to forget for the Blues as Cole Palmer’s majestic display saw Mauricio Pochettino’s men produce arguably their best performance of the campaign.

Unsurprisingly, the travelling Evertonians were far from pleased, with several empty seats appearing before the full-time whistle was blown.

Sean Dyche drops honest opinion on what he saw Everton fans do on Monday evening

The performance, quite frankly, didn’t deserve the support it was given, and Dyche has dropped an extremely honest verdict on the travelling fans leaving Stamford Bridge early.

Speaking on Monday Night Football, the 52-year-old said: “They are all nervous games. We know what the story of this season could have been, but it’s not.

“It’s a different story now, we have to react to that. Our fans have been terrific, there is no question mark on that. The fact that they have left early, you would, wouldn’t you? If you were seeing that and it’s going that way. We have to pay that support back.”

Injury blow compounds Everton’s humiliation in West London

Injuries to several players compounded Everton’s misery on Monday evening. Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson were forced off in the second half, and Dyche provided an update after the game.

On Branthwaite, he said: “Jarrad, we hope, is minor, but we have to wait and see.” On Patterson, the former Burnley boss shared a slightly more concerning update.

“We don’t know yet, and Patto’s looks a bit more serious,” he added. “A hamstring injury, we are going to have to wait and see – let it settle tomorrow.”

Seamus Coleman was also forced off with a groin injury. It’s fair to say the trip to London has proven damaging ahead of a huge fixture against Nottingham Forest next week.
