‘A lot closer’: Pundit says Arsenal would be bigger title contenders if they signed £60m man

It now looks as though Arsenal may fall just short in their pursuit of the Premier League title once again this season.

Indeed, a loss to Aston Villa at the weekend has left the Gunners in second-place in the league, and Manchester City are now firmly in the driving seat.

Arsenal may fall just short again this season, but the building blocks are there for the Gunners to go and dominate the division next term.

However, Arsenal do need something different if they are to find another gear next season, and there’s been plenty of chat about the north London club needing a new striker.

Speaking on Off The Ball, Keith Treacy has been discussing one Premier League striker, and he reckons that Arsenal would be even bigger title challengers if they signed Alexander Isak.

Arsenal should sign Alexander Isak

Treacy spoke about the £60m Newcastle star.

“Isak, this is what I mean with number nines. If Isak was at Liverpool or Arsenal that would probably be a lot closer again. Micky Van de Ven had a game to forget, it’s the wrong studs and being left in those one on one situations time and time again,” Treacy said.

Alexander Isak would be perfect for Arsenal

We genuinely can’t think of a better signing for Arsenal right now.

Isak is everything Arsenal need at the moment. This is a striker who has it all, he can finish, he can link play, he can drop deep and he can get in behind.

He’s two-footed, he’s strong, he’s fast and he’s clinical. What more do you want from your centre-forward?

Of course, getting Isak out of Newcastle won’t be easy, but if this door is even slightly ajar this summer, Arsenal need to go all-out in order to make this transfer happen.
