Official West Ham website keeps Jarrod Bowen dream alive ahead of crunch Leverkusen clash

So, it seems as though there is still a chance that West Ham United ace Jarrod Bowen will be fit to face Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night.

West Ham lost 2-0 to Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League quarter-final first-leg clash out in Germany last week, without the injured Jarrod Bowen.

Hammers News were told today that the club do not want to give away to our opponents whether the 27-year-old forward will be ready for Thursday’s game.

Let’s face it though, if we are to have any chance of progressing through to the semi-finals of the competition, we will need Bowen to play, even if he is only 80% fit.

David Moyes instructed his team to sit back and soak up the pressure out in Germany last week, but he won’t be able to use that game-plan this time.

We need to overturn a two-goal deficit, if we’re to beat the Germans, and I don’t fancy our chances of doing that without Bowen. So could he really be back in time for Thursday night’s game?

The former Hull City man has been our best and most consistent player so far this season in my opinion.

Bowen embodies everything that a West Ham team should be all about. And it seems as though there’s still hope that he could feature against Leverkusen.

According to the official West Ham website, the former Hull City star will be ‘assessed’ before Thursday night’s clash with the Bundesliga champions.

Having him available for the game against Xabi Alonso’s side would be a massive boost for everyone involved with the Hammers.

Moyes will already be without suspended duo Lucas Paqueta and Emerson Palmieri, so he’ll be thin on the ground when it comes to his team selection.

If Jarrod Bowen is passed fit for the West Ham vs Bayer Leverkusen clash, I reckon our chances of beating them will increase tenfold.

Whether or not that will be enough for us to progress through to the final four remains to be seen though.
