A great start to the marathon season for Fenland Running Club

Fenland Running Club have said that its members have “trained hard” and completed several marathons up and down the country.

Runners have burst into the marathon season after constantly training throughout the cold, wet and dark winter months, ready to take part in the Manchester Marathon.

Sean Banks finished with a time of 3:08:32 in his debut marathon.

Leading Fenland Running Club home was Ben Jimson in under three hours with 2:56:12.

Chair of the club Tom Richards said: “These two have set high standards for the runners who will be lining up at London and Cromer in the next couple of weeks.”

Elsewhere, Ian King ran the Lincoln 10k in 58:34 and Katelyn Hemsley put down her first 10k in under an hour at the Cambourne 10k in a time of 59:25.
