Manchester United told ‘superstar’ with 10 assists this season to cost just £17m, agents make move

Manchester United’s summer promises to be an intriguing one, with so much in the in the unknown. The future of Erik ten Hag, whether United will be in Europe – and who ends up staying at Old Trafford.

All remains unclear. Chris Sutton and Don Hutchison both think ten Hag will be leaving the club at the end of the season, and Hutchison predicted six players – including Antony – will leave in the summer.

It means that any transfer targets are difficult to tell at this moment in time. United need better players if they are to get back to the side they once were, but it is unclear what manager they will put in place.

Of course, Dan Ashworth is set to take over at Old Trafford and he will be tasked with hiring a new manager. The likes of Gareth Southgate, Roberto De Zerbi and plenty of others have been linked.

Man United linked with a shock move for Juventus man

But, one player they have been linked with signing is Weston McKennie. A bit of a shock link, given McKennie’s poor form during a loan spell at rivals Leeds United during the second half of last season.

After his poor form at Leeds, 25-year-old McKennie returned to Juventus in the summer and stayed put under Max Allegri. He has been superb this season for The Old Lady, playing 32 times in league and cup.

A player that Fabio Paratici described as a “superstar”, McKennie is about to enter the final year of his contract at Juventus and a decision needs to be made regarding his future. Tuttosport have an update.

How much Man United will have to pay for Weston McKennie

They claim that while Juventus are keen to hand McKennie a new deal, they will not give him a wage rise. The player wants a wage rise given his form this season, and a new contract until 2027. He wants 2028.

That is some distance in talks and Juventus are renowned for being stubborn in negotiations. So, his representatives are starting to talk to Premier League and Saudi Pro League sides about a possible move.

The report also states that Juventus would accept offers in the region of £17m for McKennie. If such an offer arrives, he will be sold. So, it looks like McKennie is on the move, Man United could take advantage.
