How Alejandro Garnacho really feels about Erik ten Hag after X incident - Journalist

Manchester United have had another turbulent week, with Alejandro Garnacho and Erik ten Hag having an incident on X after the 2-2 draw.

After a less-than-impressive 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday, Manchester United once again were in crisis.

On the pitch, it was truly awful to watch, and following the game, there was added negativity with Alejandro Garnacho liking a series of tweets which seemed to be critiquing Erik ten Hag.

This led many to believe that there was a real issue arising concerning Ten Hag possibly losing the dressing room.

But now HITC‘s Graeme Bailey has shared with United in Focus, what he’s heard about the incident.

When asked about the X incident, he explains to us, “Garnacho from what I’m told is happy with Ten Hag.”

“I don’t think it was a dig at Ten Hag, more just frustration with his performance and coming off. I don’t think it was vindictive, I think whoever was manager, he would’ve reacted like that. It’s just part of the growing pains of having young players.”

So from this, it seems clear that this is something which was blown out of proportion and is now solved.

This wasn’t all we spoke with Graeme about, here are some of the other talking points.

On Jadon Sancho’s next move

Next, we asked about Jadon Sancho who is currently on loan with Borussia Dortmund.

He’s beginning to show signs of improving here and due to this, Graeme envisions another loan this summer to continue raising the value of the England international.

“Sancho for my understanding will go out for another year’s loan because he’s just been building that value up again which is exactly what United wanted.”

On Aaron Anselmino

One exciting transfer rumour in recent weeks has been the young Argentine Aaron Anselmino who has been regularly linked with a move to Old Trafford.

On this move, he told us that he sees the defender being a target this summer while adding that the arrival of Jason Wilcox will likely lead to young players being prioritised.

“The young Boca Juniors defender, Anselmino, I think we’ll see him targeted along with some Brazilians. I think we will see a bit more injection of youth. United are really going to step up what they’re doing and Wilcox will be a big part of that.”

On Gareth Southgate and Ineos’ ideal scenario

Lastly, we discussed Ten Hag’s future at the club and immediately, he named Gareth Southgate as Ineos’ top choice.

He then added a comment on what he’s heard is the ideal management scenario for United.

“I think their ideal scenario, from what I’m being told, would be to stick with Ten Hag until the start of next season. But that first blip, then they bring Southgate in having won the Euros.

“If Southgate can win the Euros I think that’s their ideal scenario. Whether they’ll get that chance or not, he [Ten Hag’s] making it difficult for them at the minute.”
