Photo: Mikel Arteta calls up 'powerful' 6ft 5in talent to Arsenal training pre-Bayern, he's a real leader

Arsenal must quickly regroup in wake of their hugely disappointing defeat in the Premier League last time out.

The Gunners were hoping to return to the top of the table on Sunday, and were also handed a boost with Liverpool losing in one of the day’s earlier kick-offs.

However, Arsenal suffered the same fate, losing to Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium to lose ground in the title race.

The race isn’t yet done, and there could yet be more twists and turns. Meanwhile, the Gunners also need to focus on the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta’s charges lock horns with Bayern Munich in Wednesday’s quarter-final second leg at the Allianz Arena.

And with Thomas Tuchel’s charges having relinquished the Bundesliga title, they will be desperate to keep their Champions League hopes alive.

Arteta has been putting his players through their paces in training ahead of Wednesday’s game. And one of Hale End’s top talents was spotted in the session.

The player in question is Taylor Foran, who plays at centre-back for Arsenal’s Under-21s.

Who is Arsenal defender Taylor Foran?

Foran, now 20 years of age, joined Arsenal back in May 2012, when he was just nine years old.

The 6ft 5in powerhouse came through the ranks at the academy and signed his first professional contract in July 2022.

Arsenal’s official website has described Foran as a ‘powerful’ talent, while Gunners youth team expert Jeorge Bird has deemed him a ‘tall defender with impressive leadership qualities’.

He is yet to make his full Arsenal debut, but Arteta seems to rate him highly, and you’d hope that he can get a few senior minutes under his belt in the coming weeks.

Bayern Munich v Arsenal team news

Bayern are set to be without Kingsley Coman, who suffered a leg muscle injury at the weekend.

Serge Gnabry, Sacha Boey and Bouna Sarr are also set to be absent for the big game in Munich.

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was rested for the Koln game after a muscle issue but is expected to be back against Arsenal.

With Alphonso Davies banned, Noussair Mazraoui is likely fill to in at left-back against the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are keeping tabs on the issue which caused Martin Odegaard to withdraw prematurely from the Villa loss.

The only other player likely to miss out for the Gunners is Jurrien Timber, who will need some time to get back to full sharpness.
