‘I don’t think that’s fair’: Ange Postecoglou responds after being asked question about Harry Kane

Ange Postecoglou has responded after being asked a question about former Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Tottenham fans will likely be cheering on Bayern Munich tonight ahead of their second-leg clash against Arsenal.

Former Spurs star Harry Kane netted from the penalty spot at the Emirates Stadium last week to help Bayern earn a 2-2 draw.

The 30-year-old left north London over the summer in search of a fresh challenge and the opportunity to pick up silverware.

Many thought Kane lifting a league title in his debut season was a given after Bayern’s 11-year dominance of the Bundesliga.

But Bayer Leverkusen secured a historic league title over the weekend and with Bayern also out of the German cup, the Champions League represents a final opportunity for Kane to end his long wait for a major trophy this term.

Arsenal fans were keen to mock Kane at the Emirates last week but Spurs’ all-time top goalscorer could yet have the last laugh tonight.

And ahead of a huge clash at the Allianz Arena, Ange Postecoglou has been quizzed on Kane’s season at Bayern.

Postecoglou makes comment about Kane

Speaking to The Sun’s Tom Barclay, Postecoglou was asked if it’s fair to label Kane’s move to Bayern unsuccessful if he fails to pick up silverware this season.

“I don’t think that’s fair,” Postecoglou said. “I don’t get this notion that he just moved just to win things… I just think he wanted a different experience and he’s getting that”

Kane’s record vs Arsenal

Following his effort at the Emirates last week, Kane has now netted 15 times in 20 appearances against Arsenal.

The former Spurs star has proven to be a real thorn in the side for Mikel Arteta’s men over the years and is the leading scorer in north London derbies.

Tottenham fans will be hoping to see Kane do the business against their rivals once again this evening.

Even though an Arsenal win could benefit Spurs due to the extra Champions League spot up for grabs, it’s difficult to imagine Tottenham fans favouring their rivals.
