'Surprised a few': Liverpool have a young midfielder who's shocked academy staff this season – journalist

Liverpool’s academy is producing talents at a scary rate right now.

The Reds have so many exciting young players coming through. The likes of Jayden Danns, Bobby Clark and Trey Nyoni have all been tipped for big things in the future.

Speaking on Covering Liverpool, Neil Jones has been discussing another of Liverpool’s young talents, and he says there’s one young midfielder who’s actually shocked some of the staff at the academy this season.

Young Liverpool midfielder has stunned Anfield staff

Jones spoke about Lewis Koumas, claiming that people at the academy are very excited about this young man.

“I shouldn’t ignore Lewis Koumas either. If you speak to people at the academy they will tell you they almost come as a pair those two, they’ve been equally impressive in different ways, different builds and different types of players. He’s had a really good season and he’s surprised a few people in his development with the way he’s adapted to 18s football, 21s football and then to senior football as well,” Jones said.

The future is bright

Lewis Koumas sounds as though he could be a future star, and he’s not the only one at Liverpool in this mould.

As mentioned earlier. Bobby Clark, Trey Nyoni and Jayden Danns are all coming through at the moment, and that’s before we even mention the likes of Ben Doak and Kaide Gordon who have also been tipped for big things.

Of course, not all of these players will make it at Liverpool, but even if two or three of these young men become first-team regulars at Anfield, that will be a job well done in the eyes of the academy set-up on Merseyside.

There’s plenty to be excited about at Liverpool right now, that’s for sure.
