Wisbech woman wing walking to raise money for two charities

A woman will be taking part in a challenge to raise funds for a cause that has helped her family.

Carrie Key, 52, from Wisbech will be taking part in a wing walk on June 11 at Lincoln, fundraising for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity based at The Alan Hudson Centre in Wisbech.

Carrie wanted to take part in this challenge because her cousin Jamie Bittles has a Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumour that is not responding to treatment and both the brain tumour charity and The Alan Hudson Centre have supported Jamie and his family.

The Alan Hudson Centre, based at North Cambs Hospital, supports people living with a life-limiting illness, providing treatment and clinical days.

All money raised through the JustGiving page will be given to the charities to help them continue to support those that need palliative care.

Carrie said: “We wanted to raise some money to say thank you for all that the centre and staff are doing for Jamie and came up with a Wing Walk.

“It's paid for it now, so there’s no backing out.”
