"It's a shame"... What the German media are saying about Jadon Sancho as he advances to the Champions League semis

Borussia Dortmund, and more importantly in Manchester United fans’ eyes, Jadon Sancho have advanced to the Champions League semi-finals.

The Manchester United loanee played from the off in what was a simply electric fixture at the Signal Idun Park.

Edin Terzic’s side put in a simply remarkable performance as they ran out 4-2 winners against Atletico Madrid, which ended 5-4 on aggregate. The magic of the Champions League, ey?

Sancho started from the off, but it was his former Manchester United teammate who stole the show on the night.

Former Manchester United ace Marcel Sabitzer stole the show…

Marcel Sabitzer was simply incredible. He grabbed himself two goals and an assist, which ultimately inspired the Black and Yellow to victory.

Manchester United fans were more than a little envious watching the performance the little Austrian put on. He could’ve still been at Old Trafford this season.

Instead, he was the catalyst for the Bundesliga side foiling Diego Simeone’s. German media outlet Bild absolutely raved about the 30-year-old. They wrote:

‘After a brace in Gladbach, THE Dortmund hero again! With his perfect finish to make it 3-2, he made the Westfalenstadion tremble.’

‘Before that, he had already provided two assists: first with a through ball to Maatsen, then with a cross for Füllkrug. Remarkable: Leader mentality and willingness to run.’

‘Constantly appeared at the front of the top. Should have scored to take the lead himself, but hesitated too long after Adeyemi’s pass in front of goal.’

His stats on the night reflected the positive words. A MOTM performance.

What the German media are saying about Jadon Sancho

Despite Sabitzer grabbing headlines, Sancho still definitely did his bit for Dortmund. He played much better than in the reverse fixture. Playing 86 minutes, Sancho was a threat throughout but didn’t manage to get himself a goal involvement.

Nevertheless, again another positive performance considering how he played whilst around Carrington. United fans had mixed opinions on this.
