23-year-old Chelsea player spotted in training after missing Everton win with injury

Chelsea seem to have welcomed back one of their key players to first team training ahead of the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.

Pictures on the club website show one of their stars back in action after missing the recent Premier League win against Everton.

The Blues were at their best on Monday night, delivering a performance they have been threatening to do for some time under Mauricio Pochettino.

Cole Palmer was clearly the highlight of their 6-0 win over the Toffees, with his four goals sending him to the top of the goalscoring charts in the Premier League this season.

While the 21-year-old took all the plaudits, the performances of the midfield duo of Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher behind him deserved a lot of credit.

The Blues were without Enzo Fernandez in the middle of the park due to an injury concern, with there being mixed reports over how long he was set to be out for.

With it being stated that he has been playing through a lot of pain at the moment, it would perhaps of been expected that he would miss a prolonged period of time in order to fully recover.

However, when photos emerged after their return to training this week, the World Cup winner can be seen amongst his teammates.

It remains to be seen if Pochettino looks to bring his countryman straight back into the first team for the match against Manchester City on Saturday.

He may well be considering playing the same midfield that dismantled Everton, with their ability to win the ball back a real strength that allowed Palmer in front of them to star.

However, Fernandez’s ability on the ball is definitely something which will be missed if he is not present from the start at Wembley on Saturday.
