Ange Postecoglou shares Harry Kane trophy message at Bayern Munich after leaving Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has now issued a message to Harry Kane on his search for a trophy.

The all-time record goalscorer at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium departed in the summer for Bayern Munich.

It was a move which many will have felt would have seen Harry Kane already with multiple honours under his belt by now.

However, that has been far from the case with the England captain having seen the Super Cup, DFB Pokal and the Bundesliga already pass him by.

But Bayern have now secured themselves a spot in the Champions League semi-finals after knocking Arsenal out last night.

Ange Postecoglou has now issued his thoughts on Kane’s exit over the summer which was sanctioned by Daniel Levy.

And the Australian has admitted there may have been more to it than to simply get his hands on some silverware in Munich.

Ange Postecoglou drops his verdict on why Harry Kane actually left Tottenham

How Postecoglou would love to see Kane still donning the lilywhites shirt in north London after the season Spurs have had.

It has been a turbulent campaign for Spurs who have had some real highs but also some real lows.

And at the heart of their recent frustrations has been a need for an out and out striker who can provide more reliability than Richarlison up top.

Having departed Hotspur Way over the summer, Kane has had a mixed spell so far at the Allianz Arena.

On a personal level, it has been yet another fantastic campaign for the 30-year-old who has notched up 39 goals and 12 assists in his 40 appearances.

However, the search for a trophy continues with just the Champions League now to play for.

But Postecoglou has now told journalist Tom Barclay that he does not think the success of Kane’s move should be judged solely on trophies.

“I don’t think that’s fair. I don’t get this notion that he just moved just to win things… I just think he wanted a different experience and he’s getting that,” the Australian said.

What Postecoglou also said about Kane may hint to summer plans at Spurs

Last week, Postecoglou also issued some comments on Tottenham’s ability to replace the goals which came from Kane during his time at the club.

The likes of Heung-min Son has done well to chip in with his fair share of goals this season, however, Kane’s stunning return of 30 league goals last season was always going to be match.

Statistics via Transfermarkt.

“It’s essential because we were never going to replace Harry with somebody who’s going to score that volume of goals, those kinds of players just don’t exist,” Postecoglou said.

“So, for us, it was then about the collective and how we can bridge that gap.”

So it will be interesting to see if this is something Spurs look into this summer now they’ve had a full year to assess their options up top.

Replacing a player like Kane is not something which can be done with ease and so Spurs will have hopefully spent the last year scouting out his potential long-term replacement.
