26-year-old Tottenham player now spotted back in the gym after picking up injury

A key Tottenham Hotspur player has been spotted back in the gym following a spell on the sidelines.

Ange Postecoglou will have the next nine days to prepare his side for a huge north London derby.

Tottenham face the task of bouncing back against Arsenal following a heavy 4-0 defeat at St James’ Park last time out.

The defeat was a huge dent in Spurs’ top-four hopes, with Aston Villa currently three points ahead having played a game more.

Postecoglou doesn’t exactly have a straightforward run of fixtures to look forward to either.

Spurs face trips to Stamford Bridge and Anfield after hosting Arsenal – two places where they haven’t fared well in recent years. But Postecoglou could be boosted by the return of one key player ahead of a difficult run of games.

Spurs haven’t had the best of luck with injuries this season, particularly between November and January.

The likes of Micky van de Ven, James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur were all sidelined while Postecoglou also had to deal with suspensions for key players.

The Aussie boss has had the luxury of a near full-strength squad of late but Richarlison has missed Spurs’ last two games.

Indeed, the Brazilian striker has been struggling with a knee injury which has led to him featuring just three times from the bench since mid-February.

But in what could be a timely boost for Spurs, Richarlison has posted pictures of himself back in the gym on social media.

Tottenham have missed Richarlison

While Heung-min Son remains ahead of Richarlison in the pecking order, the 26-year-old’s absence has been felt.

The former Everton striker was enjoying a brilliant run of form before the injury as he netted nine goals in 10 starts between December and February.

Richarlison provides a different option to Son due to his ability to hold up the ball and offer Spurs a focal point.

Having the Brazil star back ahead of fixtures against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool would be a huge boost for Postecoglou.

It would give the Aussie more options up front, while also offering him the opportunity to move Son out wide if necessary.
