'Strong display': 20-year-old Nottingham Forest loanee did everything but score during Tuesday EFL clash

Nottingham Forest have a number of players out on loan and in some cases, the hope will be that eventually, they can step up to the first team.

The Reds have several youngsters trying to get experience in men’s football, with other more seasoned players looking simply hoping to play some football.

Forest will have a decision to make on a lot of players at the end of the season, with the club’s status currently uncertain at this stage.

The Reds have five games remaining and are just one point clear of the relegation zone as they bid for Premier League survival.

One man with a really bright future at Forest is Brandon Aguilera and right now, he’s on loan with Bristol Rovers in League One.

He was in action the other night against Cambridge and we’ve taken a look at how the player managed to get on.

Local media raved about Nottingham Forest starlet Brandon Aguilera

Well, the Costa Rican player is someone who has been around the first team this season and when called upon he’s not disappointed.

Nuno Espirito Santo gave him a run out in the FA Cup against Blackpool and also in the Premier League against Brentford.

Aguilera has been settling well with the Gas and he scored at the weekend during a win over Cheltenham.

On Tuesday, he was in action again during a clash against Cambridge and he earned a 7/10 for his performance.

Bristol Live wrote: “A strong display from the Nottingham Forest loanee whose game had everything bar a goal contribution.

“The Costa Rican seemed to be involved in the vast majority of Rovers’ flurries forward, particularly in the first half and produced some tidy interplay with his teammates. Just couldn’t find a breakthrough.”

Magic maestro can star at Forest

The Reds will need to cut their cloth accordingly in the summer and that could mean that Aguilera gets a chance in pre-season.

As a player who was on the cusp of the senior ranks in January before going out on loan, Espirito Santo does know all about him.

Forest will have a call to make on the 20-year-old magician and the fact he possesses midfield versatility should definitely help him.

Aguilera is a player who looks to have a very mature head on young shoulders and Forest would perhaps be wise to keep him in and around the first team next season.

Morgan Gibbs-White is the regular number 10 but even if he stays at the club, he would be the perfect player for Aguilera to learn from around the first-team.
