Report: Arsenal and Chelsea now on alert for £60m striker as good as Erling Haaland with 'crunch talks' scheduled

Arsenal and Chelsea are both expected to be in the market for a new striker this summer, with the Blues lacking a no.9 and Arsenal needing an improvement on Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz up top.

Chelsea signed Nicolas Jackson in the summer and while he has taken his tally to double figures for 23-24, he has missed some glorious chances. The Blues would be much higher in the table, with better.

Meanwhile at Arsenal, Havertz has improved – but he went missing on Wednesday night against Bayern and that sums up his Arsenal spell so far. Jamie O’Hara says he struggles in the big games, like last night.

Numerous strikers are on the radar for both clubs, the likes of Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Ivan Toney. But another that could be looked at by both London sides is Juventus’ Serbian ace Dusan Vlahovic.

Still only 24, Vlahovic has now spent two and a half years at Juventus, but has shown his best form over the last 12 months. This term, he has 16 goals and three assists for Juve. But, his future remains in doubt.

Deemed on a par with Erling Haaland, Tottenham are also said to be in the market for Vlahovic – who is rated at £60m. Now, Dean Jones has an update on Sportslens regarding Vlahovic’s future at Juventus.

What the report says about Arsenal and Chelsea signing Vlahovic

The report claims he is on the radar of both Arsenal and Chelsea and that they could make a move for the Juventus star, if he becomes available. It is claimed he is set for ‘crunch talks’ with Juventus over his future.

The belief is that Vlahovic will remain at Juventus for one more year before then assessing his options – but, if the talks go south, then Arsenal and Chelsea will make their move. His deal ends in June 2026.

There is no doubt that Vlahovic would improve Arsenal and Chelsea’s options in the final third. A proper no.9, that can play as a target man – or a striker that can take set-pieces. He can do a bit of everything.
