'What a player': Neco Williams says he has been seriously impressed by £30k-per-week Nottingham Forest player

Nottingham Forest right-back Neco Williams has admitted one of his team mates has really impressed him this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s men are going into a huge game on the weekend against Everton which will be viewed by many as a relegation six pointer.

Forest will have to do so away from the City Ground on Sunday with the game taking place on Merseyside.

Three points would be massive for Forest with results elsewhere potentially able to pull Everton down into the bottom three.

Results of late have been largely positive for Forest with Nuno’s men only losing one of their last five Premier League games.

And in their remaining five games, Forest still have to play Everton and two sides who currently occupy spots in the bottom three.

Although Forest find themselves right in the mix of the relegation battle this season, there have still been a number of impressive performers.

Morgan Gibbs-White has been one of those with a number of people waxing lyrical about how good the midfielder has been this season.

Former Forest defender Michael Dawson done just that on Sky Sports when speaking about the midfielder’s recent display against Fulham.

And those impressive displays this season has seen the likes of Tottenham Hotspur reportedly show an interest in the 24-year-old.

However, it appears another player has caught the eye of Neco Williams this season with his defensive partner Murillo also impressing.

Speaking to Sky Sports News on Friday ahead of the big clash on the weekend, the Welsh right-back has spoken highly of his defensive partner.

“He’s obviously a young lad. What a player! He’s someone who as a right-back you love partnering up with him as a centre-back and having him in the defensive line.

“Just because he’s so good on the ball, aggressive, quick. He has all the attributes to go on and be a top centre-back. So yeah he’s helped us massively this year with his defending and attacking.

“I just hope one of his halfway line shots can go in on Sunday.”

What Murillo has now said about his long-range shots

In his first season in the Premier League, the centre-back has already racked up 27 appearances in the top flight.

He is still waiting to find the back of the net for the first time, however, that has not come through a lack of effort.

The £30k-per-week defender has been trying his luck from range and almost done just that at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with an attempt from his own half.

And he has recently admitted that he thinks his first goal for Forest is coming soon.

“It’s crazy we know football is very unpredictable. The run against Crystal Palace is something I’m used to doing, I’ve been doing it since the youth teams. I was used to it, I saw the opportunity and went for it.

“The important thing is to help the team, so I’m anxiously awaiting my first goal as a professional. I believe it’s close!”
