Tottenham Hotspur are now looking to offer their 25-year-old a new contract with talks having already taken place.

Since the summer, a number of Tottenham players have been offered new contracts to reward them for their displays on the pitch.

The likes of Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie are two players which fit in that category having already inked new deals earlier this term.

Both players were still very early in their original contracts, but the club wanted to tie the two youngsters down on the back of their impressive starts to the season.

With Ange Postecoglou impressed by what he had seen from the pair, Daniel Levy sanctioned their extended stays at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It now seems there is another player who is impressing at Hotspur Way who Postecoglou would be keen to keep around.

And talks have now taken place with the 25-year-old who is said to be held in high regard by those at the club.

Tottenham have held positive talks to tie down 25-year-old who is highly rated

Along with the likes of Udogie and Sarr, Spurs are also looking to tie Heung-min Son down to a new deal.

The South Korean has had an awful lot to deal with this season following the sale of Harry Kane and the responsibility of becoming the Spurs captain.

Add to that the start of a new project and an Asian Cup to compete in mid-way through the term, Son has been exceptional this season.

It is now believed talks are being stepped-up by the club to try and extend the one remaining year he has on his deal currently.

But now, Alasdair Gold has reported that Spurs have held positive contract talks with back-up goalkeeper Brandon Austin.

The 25-year-old has stepped in as the substitute goalkeeper recently following the long-term injury picked up by Fraser Forster.

With his current deal set to expire at the end of the season, it is claimed both parties are aligned in wanting to extend their time together.

Alfie Whiteman admits it would be so hard to uproot Guglielmo Vicario at Tottenham

Having signed for Tottenham in the summer window, Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has become an instant hit in north London.

The 27-year-old has immediately become the starting goalkeeper at the club and has impressed many across the league.

On top of earning the praise from people outside of the club, back-up goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman has admitted how good Vicario has been since he arrived.

“Oh, it’s incredible and I feel like with Vic, of course like people see, like match days and fans will see the game. Vic’s an incredible professional. And people at the training ground will know that,” he said.

“You know, he’s here and he’s always trying to do everything he can to improve. So like, I mean I’m not surprised at all [how good he’s been]. It’s like in training you see him and you know everything he’s done on the match day, he does here.”
