Timo Werner is now doing something at Tottenham no winger in Europe can match

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Timo Werner is now doing something which no other winger across Europe can match.

Ange Postecoglou brought in the German forward over the January transfer window on a short-term loan basis.

The RB Leipzig attacker is available for Spurs to purchase for a fee of £15m and they have until 14 June to make that decision.

It is claimed the German is keen to remain in north London this summer after enjoying his return to England with Spurs.

However, it is now being questioned whether Spurs actually do want to buy the 28-year-old after a recent report has emerged.

But it seems the German is now doing something at a level which may have to be taken into consideration by the Lilywhites.

Werner has been given plenty of game time since arriving in the January transfer window but there are still a number of big games to come which could provide him with an opportunity to really impress.

Impressive Timo Werner stats that show Tottenham may have to buy him in summer

Since landing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Werner has shown some signs that will please those at Hotspur Way.

The 28-year-old has been able to rack up two goals and three assists for Tottenham but that does not quite tell the full story.

Werner has also played a big involvement in a number of own goals scored in recent weeks.

Against Luton Town, the forward was able to pressure the defender into turning the ball into his own net.

And then against Nottingham Forest, his cross was slotted home by Murillo beyond Dean Henderson.

However, there have been some moments to forget for Werner too as he has left a lot of potential goals out there on the pitch.

Richarlison‘s absence through injury has meant Heung-min Son‘s spot on the left has opened up for Werner over recent weeks.

As has been a mixed spell in north London, it has now been revealed the German is doing something which is beyond any other winger in Europe.

According to DataMB, no other winger in the top seven leagues across Europe has a higher dribble success rate (78.67%) or offensive duel win rate (69.23%) than Werner at Tottenham.

The German is proving a real threat down the left side in attacking the oppositions’s backline, but the issue lies in his final ball.

Brennan Johnson has admitted something has really shocked him about Werner

Tottenham’s summer signing Brennan Johnson has formed quite the partnership with the German over recent weeks.

The Welshman and Werner have teamed up to create a number of goals since he arrived in the January window.

And the 22-year-old has even admitted he has been left shocked by something he has seen from Werner at Hotspur Way.

“I think as a player as soon as he came in, I kind of knew what player he was at. He probably didn’t know as well about me. I think he he’s obviously a player that I knew about and I know his qualities. He was so fast and, and good on both feet,” he said.

“So I think when he gets the ball recently and kind of takes it down the line, I felt like I have to be in the position because he’s so fast. I have to be able to catch up with him and it’s the same one that was hard when he when I got the ball and looked across it. He’s always in the right areas.”
