'Really tidy': Sky Sports pundit blown away by 'brilliant' £27m Arsenal player at Wolves tonight

Arsenal got back to winning ways tonight as they won at Wolves in impression fashion to keep themselves in the title race.

Two goals, coming from Leandro Trossard and then Martin Odegaard, ensured a stressful few weeks was made to feel all the better at Molineux.

Mikel Arteta knew he needed a win and his team will be delighted ahead of facing two London derbies in their next two games.

Of course, goals do win games.

But so do clean sheets, and once again, it was Arsenal’s rear guard that held firm all night to see out Wolves every time they tried to apply pressure.

All season long, the defensive duo of William Saliba and Gabriel have won praise.

But tonight, it was the turn of goalkeeper David Raya, who was lauded by Sky Sports pundit Alan Smith.

Alan Smith lauds David Raya as Arsenal beat Wolves

The £27m goalkeeper was a somewhat controversial signing by Mikel Arteta but he is showing his worth more and more this season.

And after he stormed out off his line to claim a difficult ball into the box under pressure, former Gunner Alan Smith lauded the Spaniard on Sky Sports.

“He’s been really tidy tonight David Raya. And there again. A brilliant save as well from Joao Gomes,” Smith said.

“He was strong. Came through, one of those things where you can get caught.”

Raya has firmly ousted Aaron Ramsdale into the number two spot at Arsenal right now and the signing looks more impressive by the week.

This one moment was among a number of excellent pieces of play by Raya in the game.

As mentioned, the save he pulled off from Gomes was a stunner and you have to say, Raya is just as important as both Saliba and Gabriel right now.
