'Spoil the party': Theo Walcott predicts what will now happen when Tottenham play Arsenal next weekend

Arsenal got back to winning ways last night at Wolves and must now prepare for two tough games against Chelsea and Tottenham.

The Gunners were desperate for three points on a weekend when Manchester City were in FA Cup action.

The players duly obliged for Mikel Arteta as well, as Leandro Trossard and then Martin Odegaard both scored late in each half to seal a 2-0 win.

Arsenal face tricky week after big win at Wolves

For Arsenal, going back to the top of the league will feel big, mentally anyway.

It means they go into the midweek fixtures full of confidence and they’ll feel they can see off Chelsea at home before tackling Tottenham at the weekend.

Of course, a North London Derby at this stage of the season could be massive.

Tottenham are going for the top four, while Arsenal are going for the title.

And speaking about the game on Sky Sports last night, former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has said that Tottenham will be in no mood to help Arsenal out.

As we know, both clubs have a lot riding on the game and while both managers will speak about the importance of focussing on themselves, they’ll both know it means more deep down.

And Walcott, speaking about the fixture, believes Tottenham will be going all out to stop Arsenal in their tracks.

“The North London derby, Tottenham are not going to want Arsenal to get anything out of this game. They are going to want to spoil the party completely, potentially spoil everyone’s party because they are going for the top four themselves, so they have got a job to do,” Walcott said.

Arsenal simply have to win every game from here on in. They are also relying on Man City to slip up, so any dropped points themselves and they can pretty much wave goodbye to the title.

Tottenham, of course, are as inconsistent as they come.

However, on their day, they could beat Arsenal and if they do, you get the impression there’ll be some bitter words exchanged across North London.
