Howard Webb delivers two-word response when asked if he's spoken with Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest were robbed of three penalties against Everton yesterday and after the game, Howard Webb delivered a two-word response when quizzed on the club.

The Reds were left incensed after three separate incidents went against them in a huge Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

First, Forest forward Giovanni Reyna was kicked by Ashley Young after nipping ahead of him to gain control of the ball – Anthony Taylor and the VAR, Stuart Attwell were both unimpressed.

Next, on the stroke of half-time, Callum Hudson-Odoi tried to nudge the ball back across the boss and Young moved his arm towards the ball to prevent the cross.

In the second half, Taylor indicated when Young seemed to foul Hudson-Odoi that he’d played the ball. Replays showed he hadn’t but Attwell failed to recommend a review.

There was even time for a fourth appeal when James Tarkowski handled with the score 2-0. However, the distance between him and Chris Wood was probably too close for that one to be considered handball.

After the game, a journalist quizzed Webb on his way out of Wembley where he was watching Manchester United play Coventry and he delivered a response.

Howard Webb delivers two-word reaction when asked about Forest

Well, this was a piece of pretty decent journalism at Wembley yesterday but Webb wasn’t in the mood to stop and chat.

Tyrone Francis reports for Sky News and he was at the national stadium for the FA Cup semi-final yesterday.

When Webb walked through the media zone, he simply asked the PGMOL’s head honcho if he’d spoken with anyone at Nottingham Forest.

His response was two words and he simply responded with, ‘not yet’, smiled and continued to head out of Wembley.

The reaction of Webb is unlikely to have appeased Forest fans given that it looked as though he couldn’t be any less bothered.

At that very point, Webb’s phone might well have been inundated with missed calls and texts from Mark Clattenburg demanding some answers.

Forest statement won’t make a bit of difference

Until a club in the elite six worshipped by Sky Sports makes a similar claim as the one Forest have made, this will continue to fall on deaf ears.

The Wolves ownership posted a similar damning statement of despair towards match officials earlier this season and nothing has happened.

Appointing Mark Clattenburg looks like a doomed experiment and perhaps that is something for Evangelos Marinakis to look at.

Ultimately, the standards in the Premier League have been nothing short of shocking and it would appear that Forest are bearing the brunt every single week.

The blase response from Webb will do very little to appease Forest and these mistakes are now threatening their Premier League status.
