'Sources believe': Chelsea could secure one big sponsorship deal this summer - journalist

No one can deny that Chelsea have gone backwards since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital‘s ownership, Chelsea finished 12th in the Premier League last season and are only a few places above there this term.

That being said, the Blues are only three points behind sixth.

They obviously want to be much higher than that, though, but even with the club in mid-table right now, they do not look to have lost their status in the game.

New Chelsea-Nike deal still possible

Nike are currently Chelsea’s kit supplier, and it appears that another collaboration between the two could be on its way.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea are working hard on various sponsorship opportunities for next season and that could see them strike a deal with Nike Air Jordan.

On his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, he wrote: “Chelsea have been speaking to an array of companies and working hard on various sponsorship opportunities for next season, one of which is with Nike Air Jordan.

“I have heard positive noise on this potential deal and sources believe Chelsea have a decent chance of securing some kind of deal with them even without Champions League football.”

Chelsea need Champions League football

For now, Chelsea still appear to be quite a marketable football club, even without Champions League football.

However, it is a competition that they need to get back into at some point. The Blues need the revenue that comes from competing in it, especially given their current expenditure and the fact that Stamford Bridge is not going to be rebuilt any time soon.

The club need to generate more money and playing in the Champions League is their best avenue if they do not want to sell their best players.
