‘Are you having a laugh?’: Jamie O’Hara stunned after what talkSPORT pundit said about Arsenal last night

Jamie O’Hara was left stunned after what Jason Cundy said about Arsenal following last night’s 5-0 win over Chelsea.

Mikel Arteta’s side made easy work of Tuesday night’s London derby following a breathtaking second-half display.

Leandro Trossard beat Dorde Petrovic at his near post to open the scoring inside five minutes for Arsenal.

Despite Chelsea posing a threat on the counter in the opening period, it was all one-way traffic after the break.

Ben White and Kai Havertz both helped themselves to a brace as the Gunners turned up the heat in the second-half.

The victory saw Arsenal move three points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table and four clear of reigning champions Manchester City.

It was a performance which indicated there will be no drop-off in terms of performances this time around. But Jason Cundy had a different view on Arsenal’s first-half display, which left Jamie O’Hara in disbelief.

O’Hara shocked after Jason Cundy makes ‘bang average’ Arsenal claim

Cundy, who is a Chelsea supporter, reflected on his side’s performance at the Emirates on talkSPORT last night.

The former Tottenham man claimed that Arsenal were ‘bang average’ in the opening period after taking an early lead.

“First half, I thought Arsenal were average,” Cundy said. “After the first four minutes, we were poor. I felt for Alfie Gilchrist, making his Premier League debut and Trossard gets the goal near post. Petrovic poor, near post.

“After that, I’ve got to tell you, I thought Arsenal were bang average first half. Bang average. We had chances and at halftime, at 1-0, why do you think Arteta got booked? Because Arsenal weren’t at it.”

O’Hara hit back: “What game were you watching? Are you having a laugh?”

“Listen to me, Arsenal weren’t at it and that’s why Arteta [was booked],” Cundy added.

O’Hara then asked Cundy if he was ‘joking’ but the pundit stuck to his guns and said: “No, I’m not joking. Second half, I agree with you. Appalling. We had chances, Jackson had chances.”

“Sorry mate, don’t come on here and say Arsenal were average in the first half,” O’Hara responded. “It could have been 4-0 at halftime. You got absolutely battered.

“I think Mudryk had one cross where Jackson might have got his head on it. That was it, mate. You got totally dominated. Totally outclassed. Totally overrun. Don’t come on here and say you were alright. Come on!”

Cundy then joked that O’Hara wasn’t watching the game as he was too busy on his phone. But the latter was having none of it.

“I can’t take you seriously,” O’Hara added. “I can’t believe you’re coming on here and saying that.

“Honestly, you’re miles off it. You were not at it. You were rubbish. Don’t come on here and say the first half was a good performance. Arsenal battered you from the first whistle.”

Arteta unhappy with two things from Arsenal in first-half

While labelling Arsenal’s first-half performance as ‘average’ is a bit of a stretch, Arteta’s side weren’t at their best in the opening 45 minutes.

The Spaniard even admitted after the game that he was unhappy with Arsenal’s defending and work on the ball.

Chelsea also had opportunities and could have easily headed into the break on level terms.

With that being said, Arsenal were by far the better side on the night and showed they are a class above Mauricio Pochettino’s men after the break.

Next up for the Gunners is a huge North London Derby at Tottenham on Sunday and a victory against their bitter rivals would lay down a marker in the title race.
