Mauricio Pochettino’s future after 5-0 drubbing

Chelsea had a night to forget at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta’s side picked them apart to win 5-0 in an embarrassing Premier League clash.

The pressure piles on for Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentinian manager has had a week from hell. His exit from the FA Cup combined with this miserable scoreline has put serious doubts over his role at the club.

So, what are sources saying about his future after the 5-0 drubbing?

Rio Ferdinand on Mauricio Pochettino

Despite only arriving in July 2023, Chelsea are known to not stick with their managers for too long if they’re underperforming.

Particularly with how much Pochettino has spent, the season has been rather poor. But will he be sacked? That is the question on everyone’s lips.

Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has his say on the matter.

Chelsea fans’ banner at Arsenal

It was also a sad night to be a Chelsea fan, in particular the ones packed into the away end at the Emirates.

They simply had nothing to cheer about – which led to some very dispirited pans of the Sky Sports camera in their direction.

Although cameras didn’t pick this up, a Twitter/X user has stated there was a banner for a certain manager spotted in the Blues away end which is very intriguing…

Would Cole Palmer have helped?

In a game where, once again, Chelsea couldn’t finish their dinner – it’s safe to say they missed their star man, Cole Palmer.

Particularly in the opening 45, the Blues had chances they didn’t take to stay in the game, or even go ahead – which Palmer would have probably slotted away.

Had Chelsea had their talisman playing, would the fixture have panned out differently?
