'One of the worst': TalkSPORT pundit now claims £35m Chelsea player isn't even good enough for National League

Chelsea’s whole defence had a game to forget on Tuesday night after getting battered by Arsenal.

Despite only conceding one goal in the first half, Chelsea went on to lose the match 5-0 in what was Mauricio Pochettino‘s heaviest defeat as Blues manager.

With Thiago Silva and Trevoh Chalobah needing a rest and Malo Gusto out injured, Pochettino’s back four consisted of Marc Cucurella, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Alfie Gilchrist.

It is a back four that you would not expect to see again after that massacre at the Emirates.

Chelsea will now try to bounce back with a win when they take on Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday.

TalkSPORT pundit tears into Chelsea player after Arsenal defeat

Chelsea as a whole did not perform against Arsenal. They made it so easy for their London rivals, especially in the second half.

However, two of the team’s defenders really left radio host Andy Jacobs far from impressed.

One of them, Badiashile, he even described as “one of the worst” players he has ever seen.

Speaking on talkSPORT about the centre-back, he said: “Just look at Badiashile and ‘Disaster’ [Disasi]. I mean, they really are a right pair. They had Chalobah and [Levi] Colwill. Why on earth did they buy those two for?

“Badiashile, he’s just one of the worst players I’ve ever seen, he really is, right up there. I don’t even think he’s good enough for the Ryman, whatever it is, National League South.”

Should Chelsea sell Benoit Badiashile following Arsenal loss?

Playing at the Emirates on Tuesday was obviously not Badiashile’s finest hour, while the Frenchman is thought to be attracting interest from AC Milan.

However, Chelsea should not get rid of him just yet.

It has been a difficult season for the 23-year-old who has had to deal with injuries and Chelsea being so inconsistent as a whole.

Under different circumstances next term, perhaps the £35m France international will be able to perform much better. In such a chaotic season, it has been hard for anyone to excel, with Cole Palmer just one of a few exceptions.
