After Japan announcement, Tottenham now lining up another pre-season game despite receiving FA scrutiny

Tottenham Hotspur are set to schedule another pre-season game after recently confirming their trip to Japan.

Ange Postecoglou‘s first term as the Tottenham manager is coming to a close but there remains a lot of football still to be played.

For a side who are only competing in the Premier League, Spurs have one of the most congested fixture lists about.

The Lilywhites still have six league games to see out as they aim for Champions League qualification and then fly immediately to Melbourne, Australia for a ‘post-season friendly’.

But that does not even count towards the start of Tottenham’s pre-season plans with the club already announcing games in South Korea and Japan.

As well as a friendly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Harry Kane and Eric Dier‘s Bayern Munich, Spurs now look set to confirm yet another friendly.

If Tottenham wish to compete on the European stage then they will have to get used to a busy schedule, but there are certainly a lot of plans already in place following the final game against Sheffield United.

Tottenham now planning another pre-season friendly within the United Kingdom

The Lilywhites already have some serious plans in place for the summer off the field with The Spurs News having been told the club could be set for a busy summer.

Spurs have a number of players already on their radar as Daniel Levy looks to aid Postecoglou’s fine tuning of the squad he hes began to build.

Ahead of the new season, though, the club have come under some scrutiny for their scheduled friendly against Newcastle United in Australia.

The game will take place just three days after the final game of the Premier League term and has seen scrutiny land from the FA.

And now Alasdair Gold has claimed Tottenham are set to announce another United Kingdom-based friendly for the summer.

Speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast, it was suggested the friendly will be taking place in Scotland with the potential to cap off the Postecoglou treble with a game against Celtic.

“And then yeah, we go into July and you’ve got the Scotland friendly. I’m not sure if that’ll be the first one. But it was certainly a game in Scotland is being lined up ahead of the Asian Tour,” he said.

“Which we now know, we’ve had it confirmed they’ll go to Japan first. And then South Korea looks to be the next destination after that. Has yet to be confirmed, but it seems to be the case.

“And it’ll be interesting to see who the opponents are in Korea because the Korean media had it as a K-League kind of All Stars team as the first game and in Bayern Munich is the second game.”

Where and when will Tottenham be playing their pre-season friendlies?

Concluding their season off with a trip to Bramall Lane, Spurs will be quickly jetting off to the other side of the world to play against Newcastle in Australia.

It is a pre-season schedule which may frustrate some across the country given a recent update announced for the scrapping of FA Cup replays.

Spurs will be one of the top sides who will benefit from potentially playing fewer cup games as a result, but they continue to increase their games outside of the season.
