What Crystal Palace fans were singing at Craven Cottage against Fulham

One thing that the atmosphere at Selhurst Park would never require is the use of clappers to encourage the home supporters to be heard, something that the travelling Eagles made fun of at Craven Cottage.

As relayed by journalist Matt Woosnam, Palace fans were singing ‘We’re Crystal Palace, we clap with our hands’ in reaction to the host’s use of clappers to improve the atmosphere.

It was a chant of humour from the away fans, who were heard from the off against Fulham, guiding the squad to earn a late point away from home.

Crystal Palace fought hard to take a point from Fulham

While Fulham had more of the ball, Palace were the more threatening side in the final third, earning their 87th-minute leveller for their continual efforts throughout the contest.

Glasner will be proud of his side’s away performance, seeing them build on their current run of form following three consecutive wins in the Premier League.

The fans will appreciate the work that the Austrian has done to make the Eagles an enjoyable side to watch once more, with a host of players seeming to raise their levels in the manager’s system, Schlupp being one of them.

The 31-year-old is out of contract at Palace in the summer, with his strike against Fulham being the perfect parting gift if he is to bid farewell to South London at the end of the season.

For now, the Eagles’ fans will enjoy their current run of form and will be watching Schlupp’s strike on repeat, returning to Selhurst Park to create a deafening atmosphere against Manchester United, without the use of clappers.
