Fenland Gymnastics Academy students triumph at East Region finals

Gymnasts from Fenland Gymnastics Academy have scooped a multitude of medals during gradings during the past month.

The gymnasts performed beautifully to scoop 58 medals while seven members qualified for the East Regional Finals.

Five gymnasts were crowned county champions at the event.

Head coach Claire Port said: “We are so proud of all of our gymnasts for their commitment and dedication to their gymnastics.

"They have worked so hard to be ready for these gradings and these results are a testament to that and their coaches' continued dedication.

"These are our best-ever grades results and we wish the seven girls heading off to Regionals the best of luck.”

In the Pre-Preparation Grade, Phoebe Wood performed flawlessly to be crowned county champion, with Karla Dumitriu third and Jeva Martinkina fourth.

Darcy was crowned county champion in Preparation 1 while Lilly Wright achieved the same feat in Development 1 with Mia Rowe a close second.

Maisie Sooley fell just outside of overall placings in fourth.

At Development 2; Sofia Doughty performed well to finish second, whilst in Development 3 the club made it a clean sweep with Katie Leach being crowned county champion, Megan Lee second and Daisy Pepper third.

At Development 1, six years of hard work saw Lucy Pepper compete her grades to be crowned county champion.

Fenland Gymnastics Academy successful students

Wright, Rowe, Doughty, Leach, Lee, Daisy Pepper and Lucy Pepper will now represent the club and county at the Regional Finals on May 19.
