Gerard Pique shares who he thinks is better out of David Silva and Cesc Fabregas

Gerard Pique has shared who he thinks was better out of David Silva and Cesc Fabregas.

The trio have not only played together for the Spanish national team but have also featured in the Premier League for some of England’s biggest clubs.

In terms of their efforts in the top flight of English football, Pique only made 12 appearances for Manchester United before he joined Barcelona in 2008.

As for Silva, he made 309 Premier League appearances during his 10-year spell at City.

Then with Fabregas, the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder featured in 350 top-flight games in total.

With all three now being retired from the game, Pique has now had to share which of his two former international teammates he thinks were better than the other.

In a recent post shared on the BBC 5 Live Sport X account, the former centre-back was partaking in a this-or-that challenge where he had to pick one out of two options that were put his way.

When asked to pick between Silva and Fabregas, Pique went for Fabregas, who played in 95 games with the former defender when they were at Barcelona together.

Across his 350 league games, the 36-year-old scored 50 goals, delivered 117 assists and lifted two Premier League trophies.

In Silva’s 309 top-flight games, he scored 60 goals, supplied 101 assists and won four Premier League titles.

In our view, while no City supporter would put Fabregas over Silva, we feel that Pique has done so due to the fact that he played with him at Barcelona and therefore had a closer look at what Fabregas was like on and off the pitch than Silva.
