‘They will explore’: Chelsea will try to appoint ‘amazing’ manager this summer if they think they can get him

Reports are not going away that Chelsea are looking to make a change to the managerial position at the end of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino is seeing his side linger in the mid-table positions right now, with qualifying for Europe next season seeming to be the goal.

It has been claimed all along that the players are admirers of the Argentine, and he is a popular figure at the club in just his first season here.

However, results are important, and missing out on either cup competition and no European football for next season would not leave Todd Boehly and co happy.

A number of names have been mentioned as potential candidates to take over from the Argentine, with them looking across Europe as well as the Premier League.

It has been claimed that they held a meeting with Ruben Amorim over a potential move, with the Sporting Lisbon man seemingly set to be on the move this summer.

Chelsea will approach Ruben Amorim if they think they can get him

While the club categorically denied any meeting taking place, journalist Sami Mokbel told ‘The Josh and Darko Show’ that he thinks the Blues will make a move if they think they can appoint him.

He said: “I’m not saying Pochettino is going to go, and there will be discussions at the end of the season, but if Chelsea feel they can get Ruben Amorim, then I think that is definitely a situation that they will explore despite private jet denials last week”

Amorim set to leave this summer

Amorim looks set to leave his current side with another league title, with him becoming one of the top young managers in the game.

He has previously been described as ‘amazing’ by a Portuguese rival boss, and is on the radar of a number of top clubs already.

It looks like he will not be on the way to Liverpool though, with them seemingly looking to appoint Arne Slot to replace Jurgen Klopp when he leaves.
