‘Great player’: Gabriel Jesus says £35m Arsenal player has become his best friend at the club

Gabriel Jesus has been at Arsenal for over two years now, and he seems to have settled at the club very well.

The striker didn’t have to do much adapting at Arsenal to be fair. He already knew Mikel Arteta from their time together at Manchester City, while he was already familiar with Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli from the Brazil setup.

Jesus has taken to life at Arsenal like a duck to water, and his adaptation was only made easier when Oleksandr Zinchenko arrived a few weeks after Jesus joined.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Jesus has been discussing life at Arsenal, and he stated that Zinchenko is actually his best friend at Arsenal now.

The Brazilian spoke about Zinchenko and how close he is with the £35m man.

“Who’s your closest friend in the club?” Jesus was asked.

“I could say the Brazilians but I think Zinchenko because we’ve played together for years and we’ve got to know each other really well. He’s just a great guy to be around, and he’s a great player. He gives us something different.”

Arsenal make it easy to settle

Arsenal’s new signings all seem to settle so easily, and perhaps that’s due to the fact the Gunners have a concentrated strategy when it comes to signing players who know people at the club already.

Look at the additions from this past summer. Declan Rice knew a number of players from England, Kai Havertz knew Jorginho well from his time at Chelsea, while David Raya worked with Inaki Cana as his goalkeeping coach at Brentford.

It’s not a coincidence that Arsenal keep signing players who they know will be able to settle easily, and it’s a transfer strategy that is working brilliantly, it must be said.
