Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is a ‘live’ transfer option for Liverpool
Crystal Palace talent Marc Guehi is a ‘live option’ for Liverpool as the Reds prepare to target a centre-half this summer. That is according to Sami Mokbel, who has told The Josh & Darko Show that several Premier League sides are now showing interest in signing the 23-year-old.
Clubs up and down England are keeping tabs on Guehi as he will only have two years left on his contract come the summer. Liverpool, in particular, are taking Guehi’s potential transfer ‘very seriously’. Anfield chiefs are keen to understand a move for the nine-cap England gem.
Guehi is currently on the sidelines at Selhurst Park after requiring surgery for the knee injury he sustained back in February. But the 5 ft 11 enforcer is due to return before the end of the season. Guehi captained Crystal Palace in his six Premier League matches before the injury.

Liverpool staff are discussing the possibility of selling Luis Diaz
Staff at the AXA Training Centre have openly discussed the prospect of Liverpool selling Luis Diaz this summer. That is according to the Liverpool ECHO, which notes that the 27-year-old now has an uncertain future amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain in his potential transfer.
Diaz has three years remaining on his contract at Anfield but is towards the back of a lengthy queue for new terms. Liverpool are currently prioritising sorting out the futures of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold as they will all be out of contract in 2025.
FSG CEO of football Michael Edwards and Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes also must decide if Diaz merits increased terms. He has 13 goals and five assists in 48 games this season. But just eight of Diaz’s goals have come during his 34 Premier League appearances.

Graeme Souness feels Arne Slot must get Virgil van Dijk ‘on side’ if he is to flourish as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement at Liverpool. The Feyenoord manager is widely expected to take over at Anfield this summer after Klopp decided to step down from the helm at the end of the term.
Liverpool have agreed to a £9.4m deal with Feyenoord to appoint Slot as their manager. The Reds will pay an initial £7.7m to break Slot from his contract plus a further £1.7m in possible add-ons. But the Merseyside team are still to reach a total agreement with Slot to take over.
Taking charge of Liverpool will mark a step into a new territory for the 45-year-old, who has led Feyenoord since July 2021 plus AZ Alkmaar previously. So, while Slot may have won the Eredivisie in 2022/23 and KNVB Beker this term, Souness says he must get Van Dijk ‘on side’.
Souness outlined on the Up Front podcast: “He will know everything about Slot being Dutch himself. Thinking about it, he is the one he must get on side. Slot must get Van Dijk on side.”
