How Conor Gallagher reacted to Chelsea fans unveiling his banner before win vs Tottenham

Conor Gallagher led Chelsea out into battle last night against one of their fiercest rivals at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues picked up a big three points in their quest to finish in the European places this season.

Goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson either side of half-time got the job done, with them both coming from very different free-kick routines.

It was Gallagher’s cross which picked out the defender to open the scoring, meanwhile Cole Palmer’s sensational effort crashed off the crossbar before being nodded home.

It was a big day for the England International, who it feels is very much playing for his career at Stamford Bridge right now.

It was exclusively revealed to the Chelsea Chronicle yesterday at this stage of the season, Gallagher has to accept that as it stands he has no future in West London.

This decision seems bonkers based on how impressive he has been this season, with the extra faith placed in him by manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Gallagher delighted by banner

His efforts this season were acknowledged by the Stamford Bridge faithful, who organised a banner to be made to mark the big game against Spurs.

A video published by Twitter page adzzCFC shows the 24-year-old clearly chuffed with the gesture, giving a thumbs up and applauding the end that donned it.

Gallagher and Moises Caicedo starring together

He paid the fans back with another top performance in the middle of the park that will only have proven to Pochettino that he has stumbled across his best midfield duo right now.

The pairing of Gallagher with Moises Caicedo has proven to be one of the best in the Premier League right now, and will be absolutely crucial in the club’s run in to the end of the season.

European football qualification is still a very real possibility this season, and that feat would likely be enough to keep Pochettino in a job for next season.
