‘Accurate’: Liverpool are more likely to sign ‘outstanding’ Dutch player than Pedro Neto - journalist

Liverpool will be looking to add to their attack this summer.

According to Ben Jacobs, speaking on The Debrief, Liverpool are looking into signing a creative wide player this summer, regardless of what Mohamed Salah decides on for his future.

The journalist says that signing a new winger is a priority for the Reds heading into the summer, and he named a couple of potential targets.

Liverpool want a new winger

Jacobs spoke about Liverpool’s pursuit of a new wide player, claiming that Crysencio Summerville is a genuine target, stating that the Dutchman is more likely to sign for Liverpool than Pedro Neto.

“I think they will look for a wide creative player regardless of the Mo Salah situation, that was always the plan, to my understanding. Partly perhaps down to the fact Luis Diaz’s future is a bit uncertain. Profile-wise, the links to Crysencio Summerville at Leeds are accurate, that’s the type of age or profile that they could be looking for. If Leeeds don’t get promoted there could be a window of opportunity, whereas I’m less confident Liverpool would see value in Pedro Neto at £80m,” Jacobs said.

Crysencio Summerville would be a gamble

We absolutely love Crysencio Summerville as a player, but even the Dutchman’s biggest fan would have to admit that signing the Leeds United winger would be a gamble for Liverpool.

Summerville has been ‘outstanding‘ for Leeds this season, but that’s his first real breakout campaign and it’s in the Championship.

The jump between the Championship and a club like Liverpool is absolutely huge, and we do worry that Summerville would be jumping in at the deep end if he were to move to Anfield this summer.

Summerville has the ability to be a top Premier League player, but perhaps he’d be best off making a stepping-stone move before heading to a club like Liverpool.
