Ange Postecoglou now looking to make specific change at Hotspur Way over the summer

Ange Postecoglou is now looking to make some significant changes behind the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The curtain has almost drawn on the 2023/24 campaign in north London with Ange Postecoglou overseeing his first season as the Tottenham manager.

Although Spurs have just fallen short over the last month in the race for Champions League qualification, there are still plenty of positives to take from the term.

Not many would have put Tottenham inside the top five in their predictions for the season with the club selling Harry Kane over the summer.

However, it has been a season of big improvements – on the whole – for Spurs with some clear areas for improvement over the summer.

After the turbulent few seasons Spurs have had since the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino, it was never going to be a quick fix under Postecoglou.

And it now seems the 58-year-old has some specific ideas of what he wants to do at Hotspur Way over the summer.

Ange Postecoglou has key upgrade in mind for the summer at Tottenham

The summer window is going to see more change come about at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Postecoglou fine tunes his squad.

Spurs have been linked to various players already and the Australian has already admitted players will be moving on over the coming months.

And the issues which Spurs have experienced over recent weeks will have made it clear to Postecoglou just what needs to change this summer.

Tottenham have now lost their previous three Premier League games and it could well become four in a row tomorrow at Anfield.

However, it is not just his squad of players who Postecoglou is looking to make changes to over the summer.

According to club insider Paul O Keefe, the Spurs manager is now looking to make changes to his coaching staff.

Postecoglou did inherit some members of staff last summer with the likes of Ryan Mason remaining at the club.

So it will be interesting to see whether it is any of his own coaching staff which could move on or whether he looks to make changes elsewhere.

Clear need for specific coach to be hired at Tottenham

This season has shown the clear need for Tottenham to address their issues when it comes to defending set pieces.

Spurs conceded again from a set piece on Thursday night after conceding a further two against Arsenal on the weekend.

However, Postecoglou has suggested he is not keen on the idea of bringing in a coach just to handle set pieces.

“It’s something that we work on along with everything in our game. There are far more important things that we need to concentrate on at the moment in terms of the team we’re building,” he said after Thursday’s loss.

But Spurs are now one of the worst clubs at defending set pieces and surely there has to be an investigation into it at the club over the coming weeks.
