Report: Crystal Palace want to sign £30m winger Yannick Bolasie called "unpredictable" if Michael Olise goes

Crystal Palace now want to sign a winger who Yannick Bolasie rates highly if Michael Olise leaves Selhurst Park this summer.

There is – unsurprisingly – widespread interest in the Crystal Palace No.7 after yet another stunning campaign for the Eagles.

A story from ESPN states that Manchester United lead the race to sign the France U21 international – with Liverpool and Arsenal also keen to secure his signature.

Ideally, Oliver Glasner and Dougie Freedman can convince Michael Olise to stay at Crystal Palace – but a replacement has already been identified if he does choose to go…

Crystal Palace want Reiss Nelson to replace Michael Olise

Well – according to Football Transfers – Crystal Palace want Arsenal No.24 Reiss Nelson if Olise departs south London this summer.

The 24-year-old has struggled for playing time under Mikel Arteta so far this season, despite only signing a new £100,000-a-week contract back in July 2023, which runs until 2027.

As a result, Freedman senses an opportunity to sign Nelson if Olise leaves this summer, and Football Transfers believe Arsenal would be willing to sell the Londoner for a sum of £30m.

The Hale End graduate has made 24 appearances in all competitions so far this season – scoring one goal while also providing three assists – but just five of his outings have been starts.

Nelson has not even been named in Arteta’s squad for Arsenal’s last three Premier League games, so an exit looks very likely to happen this summer.

Yannick Bolasie rates Arsenal No.24 highly

As aforesaid, Bolasie rates Nelson highly – and even called the Englishman a more “unpredictable” winger than Gabriel Martinelli.

Speaking on the FILTHYFELLAS podcast, the man who made 144 appearances for Crystal Palace from 2012 to 2016 said: “Reiss Nelson has more than Martinelli. Unpredictable, I’m not saying ability, but unpredictability.”

“When he first came through Reiss, it was mad. I don’t feel like he has been doing what he was doing when he was first coming through. Some man get comfortable, that’s the way it is.”

If Nelson is indeed in his comfort zone at Arsenal and struggling to perform, Selhurst Park has often proved to be a place where talents get themselves back on track – just ask Bolasie himself.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen this summer.
