Speeding and uninsured drivers among latest cases from Nottingham Magistrates’ Court

A speeding driver who avoided a ban due to the likely impact on his work and family is among the latest to come before magistrates.

Vytautas Janusas, 37, of Trinity Road, Edwinstowe, plead guilty to speeding on March 28, and was sentenced during an appearance at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on May 1.

On August 14, 2023, Janusas drove an Audi at a speed exceeding 30mph on Kings Mill Road/Kirkby Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield.

He was fined £80, ordered to pay costs of £122 and had three points added to his licence.

Janusas avoided a totting disqualification as the court heard it would limit his employment opportunities, which would impact his ability to pay rent and could lead to him losing his home, which would have an impact on his family.

Also before the court on May 1 was Oskar Marcin Florczyk, 23, of Chatham Court, Newark.

On April 12 he pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes without insurance, on Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham, on September 17, 2023.

Florczyk was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £138.

Six points were added to his licence.

Another speeding driver, Christopher Cash, 49, of Ludgate Drive, East Bridgford, pleaded guilty to the offence on May 1, and was sentenced the same day.

Cash was fined £40, ordered to pay costs of £106, and had three points added to his licence.

He drove a Nissan at a speed exceeding 30mph on Longdale Lane, Ravenshead, on July 23, 2023.
