Kendall Jenner’s Met Gala 2024 dress was simple yet elegant. Fans were a little disappointed to see it wasn’t ground-breaking on the red carpet, but she certainly made up for it at the after party.
The Kardashians star wore vintage couture on the Met Gala 2024 red carpet, before swapping dark black for pure white at the after party. Kendall Jenner donned an archival 1999 Givenchy dress in style.

Believed to have dressed as a modern flapper girl at the Met Gala, Kendall told Vogue, “I made a dream list of who I’d ideally want to go with, and I would have died to wear something by Alexander McQueen.”
Dani Michelle, Kendall’s stylist, revealed how they done “a ton of research” on the designer. “Kendall and I both fell in love with this dress. Shockingly, they had it,” she revealed in the interview.
During the Met Gala 2024, Kendall Jenner became the first person to ever wear one of McQueen’s autumn/winter 1999 looks for Givenchy Haute Couture.
‘Simple’ outfit overshadowed by after party
Constructed of nude and black tulle, the red carpet dress is covered with over 100,000 black and brass beads and sequins, which were hand-embroidered over 500 hours.
Although the black outfit was described as “simple,” it was quickly overshadowed by her after party ensemble. She wore a short, lacy white dress paired with white handbag accessories and white heels.
Model looked ‘beautiful’ in white
Kendall wore a Vivienne Westwood look for the Met Gala 2024 after party. The corseted look featured a feather-like bodice detailing and was a custom-made Andreas Kronthaler piece.
“I have always admired the house of Vivienne Westwood and the looks that are strong, but also feminine and sexy,” Jenner told Vogue. “When Andreas presented me this sketch, I fell in love immediately.
She said how the look “fits perfectly” while complementing her red carpet look. “I really wanted to continue a story of a Renaissance-inspired dress,” Jenner said, describing it as “dreamy”.
