Report: What Michael Olise now thinks about Old Trafford move after Crystal Palace 4-0 Manchester United

Michael Olise delivered what was arguably his best performance in a Crystal Palace shirt on Monday – as Manchester United were humiliated at Selhurst Park.

The France U21 international got the ball rolling with a tremendous strike in the 12th minute after embarrassing Casemiro, before sealing the win with a ferocious strike in the 66th minute.

Ahead of the Premier League clash in SE25, there was talk that Manchester United lead the race to sign the Crystal Palace No.7 this summer – according to ESPN.

Now – after the Red Devils were thrashed in south London – Michael Olise‘s thoughts on a move to Old Trafford have been brought to light by The Athletic

What Michael Olise now thinks about joining Manchester United

Unsurprisingly, the 4-0 win has not done much to attract Olise to Manchester United.

The Athletic believe the 22-year-old would much prefer to join Manchester City if he does leave Crystal Palace this summer, with very little currently enticing the winger regarding a move to Old Trafford.

Olise is said to have a release clause worth £60m written into the contract he signed back in August – according to the Daily Mail – which is a very fair price for a player of his immense quality in the modern football market.

The Hammersmith-born forward has remarkably scored nine goals and provided four assists in just 17 Premier League appearances this season, averaging a goal involvement every 84 minutes.

If these are to be Olise’s final games in a Crystal Palace shirt, he is certainly making them count.

Crystal Palace have replacement in mind

Should Olise depart Selhurst Park this summer, Dougie Freedman already has a replacement in mind.

A story from Football Transfers claims that the Eagles are considering a move for Arsenal No.24 Reiss Nelson this summer, and the Gunners are willing to sell for a sum of £30m.

The Londoner has struggled for playing time this season with just one Premier League start to his name, although he has the backing of Yannick Bolasie – who was himself a winger who found his feet at Selhurst Park.

Hopefully, Olise stays put, but if an exit does materialise, we back Freedman to find the next best thing for Oliver Glasner.
