Jamie Carragher now shares why Crystal Palace will be the envy of every Premier League club

Crystal Palace were a sparkling example of Oliver Glasner’s footballing philosophy on Monday, now Jamie Carragher has had his say.

Monday night saw the most obvious example of the fine work Oliver Glasner is doing for Crystal Palace right now.

A 4-0 win over Manchester United isn’t a result which occurs every day and secured the league double against Erik ten Hag’s struggling Reds.

In the game, Michael Olise was the standout as he scored two solo goals which left Andre Onana scrambling.

His two goals secured the three points basically as Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell also scored one each.

Now, in the aftermath, pundit Jamie Carragher has revealed just why Palace will be leaving the rest of the league envious.

Jamie Carragher says Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise could start for any club in the league

Speaking on Monday Night Football for Sky Sports, Carragher was left in awe of the two main men at Selhurst Park, Eberechi Eze and Olise.

“You look at the performance tonight for the two of them and I think they could almost play for anyone in this league I really do”, the former Liverpool defender explained.

“There’s talk of Manchester United having Olise as their top target and you could understand why.

“We always used to go to Wilfried Zaha and he was always the one we spoke about when they played, and he was fantastic for Palace, maybe the best player they’ve had in the Premier League, but I actually think these two are better.

“I hope they both stay because I love watching them play. These are two players who can play Champions League football.”

Effectively, Carragher is saying that Palace are lucky to have the duo, with both capable of a level much higher than where the Eagles have been in recent years.

Carragher wasn’t the only pundit to be enthralled by the Palace duo, as former Palace winger Andros Townsend also lauded them on BBC podcast The Monday Night Club.

“He (Olise) is a special, special player. Him and Eze, when they are fit and firing, it’s just frightening.

“Olise has had his injury problems this season, he has had recurring hamstring injuries, which might put one or two clubs off this summer, but what a player!”
