‘He’s the one’: Mark Wilson believes Celtic idol looks as dangerous now as he was under Ange Postecoglou

The great thing about this current Celtic team is that we have threats all over the park that can cause teams problems.

From Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley in midfield to James Forrest on the wing and Adam Idah up front, Celtic are looking good heading into the Glasgow Derby clash with Rangers this week.

And not just that, at the back, we have Joe Hart in great form and Cameron Carter-Vickers solidifying the backline so as well as having a brilliant attacking threat, Brendan Rodgers has a defence that is also starting to keep clean sheets.

But there is one player who Mark Wilson believes is looking as good now as he did under Ange Postecoglou and at this stage of the season, it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Kyogo Furuhashi looking dangerous for Celtic

Mark Wilson was purring about the Japanese striker after watching his double against Hearts on Saturday.

So pleased was the former Celtic defender with Kyogo, Wilson believes he now looks as good now as he did under former Hoops boss, Ange Postecoglou.

Wilson said [Superscoreboard], “It’s obviously the guy at the top end of the pitch that gets the plaudits, and rightly so.

“Because he’s the one that sets the ball rolling, gets two goals and he’s much more like himself or the player he was last year, Kyogo.”

Kyogo is now on 18 goals for the season. Admittedly, it’s not close to the 34 times he hit the back of the net last season, he has scored three and created one in Celtic’s last three fixtures.

However, it’s against Rangers that the Japanese striker has really shone and with seven goals in twelve appearances, Kyogo is likely to have a big say in the weekend’s top-of-the-table clash as Brendan Rodgers looks to tie up another league title.
