"See you again next year": Crystal Palace star now drops big hint that he will stay at Selhurst Park

This summer it’s expected there will be big departures from Crystal Palace, but one current star has dropped a hint suggesting he’s staying.

Oliver Glasner will be desperate right now to keep the bulk of his squad to avoid having to completely rebuild his Crystal Palace side which is thriving right now.

However, with players like Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi all generating a great deal of interest, it may not be possible to keep them all.

Of the trio, right now Guehi and Olise look most likely to be allowed to leave, which makes the hint of staying from one £17m player even more exciting.

Joachim Andersen drops a hint over his Crystal Palace future

On Tuesday night, Joachim Andersen was named one of the two winners of the Players’ Player of the Season category during the end-of-season awards.

But prior to that in a video showing the players voting, Andersen said something interesting to club media, which may be a hint over his future.

He said, “Thank you for this year, see you again next year.”

While this isn’t a cut-and-dry example of him confirming his future, it does suggest he’s considering remaining at Selhurst Park this summer.

If Andersen stays this summer, it’d be a huge coup for Palace as he’s the main man in that defence which has thrived even in the absence of Guehi.

Keeping Andersen could be the defensive signing of the summer

For large parts of the last season, it seemed like Andersen would be a player actively searching out a new club in order to fulfil his ambitions which are higher than Palace were previously looking capable of.

But under Glasner, Andersen has shown signs of being revitalised and has begun to impress again, all while looking motivated and happy at the club once more.

Wearing the captain’s armband against United he led expertly and it could become a regular occurrence should he remain this summer.

Not losing both Guehi and Andersen is potentially the best defensive signing that Palace could make this summer, so hopefully his hint holds some weight.
