West Ham make contact again to sign 24-year-old striker after Sullivan made £13m bid - report

West Ham United are clearly not giving up the chase to sign brilliant Royale Union Saint-Gilloise striker Mohamed Amoura this summer.

Mohamed Amoura could well be the perfect striker for West Ham, and he’d be a major upgrade on Michail Antonio in my opinion.

Julen Lopetegui is close to signing a two-year deal with the Hammers, and the Spaniard will obviously be keen to sign a striker.

In fact, it has been claimed that the addition of a centre-forward is Lopetegui’s priority, as he plans to make six new signings.

Antonio has been a fantastic servant for West Ham over the years, but it’s time we moved on from the 34-year-old if we really want to make progress.

And it seems like that’s exactly what the Hammers are planning to do…

What a statement move this could be for the Hammers.

L’Equipe claim that the Hammers are chasing Amoura’s signature, but we face competition from the likes of Marseille, Newcastle and Wolves.

It was reported just last week that West Ham have actually already made a £13 million bid for the 23-year-old centre-forward.

Amoura plays for Belgian side Union SG, and has bagged 23 goals and seven assists in 44 games so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The 22-capped Algeria international possesses real pace, and is always willing to run the channels just like Antonio, but he is a far better finisher than the Jamaica international.

He can play as a left winger or even in the number 10 position as well if need be.

The race is clearly heating up for the signature of Mohamed Amoura, and it just remains to be seen whether West Ham manage to emerge as winners.
