'I insist': Nuno Espirito Santo sets new challenge to £3m Nottingham Forest star

Nuno Espirito Santo has explained what the next big challenge is for Nottingham Forest star Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Reds player has scored seven goals this season and added two more to his tally at Sheffield United last weekend.

Forest are three points clear of the relegation zone with just two games remaining and the end of the season is now upon us.

The Reds have had a number of top performers this season and Hudson-Odoi will likely be in contention for the Player of the Year accolade.

Nuno Espirito Santo explains next challenge for Callum Hudson-Odoi

It’s been a bit of a slow process for the 23-year-old this season but finally Forest are starting to see the best from the winger.

He seems to have been around for years and it’s quite remarkable that Forest managed to get Hudson-Odoi for just £3 million in the summer.

Despite his strong run of form, Espirito Santo has now outlined the next challenge for Hudson-Odoi as the season enters the final weeks.

He told the Forest YouTube channel: “The most difficult part is to sustain the level of performance that he showed and he did play well. That’s the big challenge that he has as an individual. He’s doing well but I insist that he continues to improve.”

Hudson-Odoi is the Forest signing of the season

Naturally, it would be easy to say that Murillo is the signing of the season – and it wouldn’t be a bad shout.

However, to be different, and the fact that goals win football matches, we think Hudson-Odoi should be in the frame.

Hudson-Odoi cost just £3 million and that is frankly ridiculous from a business point of view.

The player has scored seven times and had he stayed fit a little bit longer, he might have bagged himself more goals.

With a full pre-season under his belt, it’s scary how good Hudson-Odoi could become at Forest.

Espirito Santo is spot on with this challenge for the youngster and hopefully, there is even more to come from him next season.
