Plans for Moyes farewell announced and look out for new addition at LS

West Ham plans for the big David Moyes farewell have been announced and fans should look out for a new addition at London Stadium.

So now, the end is near and David Moyes faces the final curtain, well with West Ham at least.

After Monday’s big announcement that West Ham will indeed be parting ways with the Scot, fans will get the chance to bid him a fond farewell at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Julen Lopetegui is coming in as Moyes’ replacement.

But no formal announcement will be made on that front until Moyes departs after the season finale at Man City.

It promises to be an emotional day as Luton come to east London.

Moyes – once hailed the Moyesiah by so many – has done a tremendous job at West Ham.

No matter what your stance on the Hammers boss and some of the football over the last two years, nobody could deny that fact.

Moyes has poured his heart and soul into West Ham over the last four-and-a-half years.

Moyes restored pride back to West Ham

Living hundreds of miles away from his wife and working long hours every day, he brought some much-needed pride back to this football club.

The Hammers were a laughing stock when he returned to take over from Manuel Pellegrini.

He dragged the sorry bunch up by their bootstraps, got the team fighting for the badge and fans again – and duly saved West Ham from potential relegation for a second time.

Three years of European football followed after sixth and seventh placed finishes crowned with a first major trophy for 43 years.

All good things come to an end, though. That much has been clear for several months with West Ham becoming a busted flush under a manager who is very much of the old school.

By announcing Moyes’ departure, supporters can at least give him the send off he richly deserves.

But what do the club have in store?

West Ham plans for Moyes farewell announced

West Ham’s plans for the Moyes farewell have been announced and fans should look out for a new addition at the London Stadium.

Sean Whetstone counts Karren Brady and David Sullivan as close contacts.

And he has revealed what will be happening before and after the Moyes goodbye clash with Luton.

Moyes is not one for pomp and ceremony and reports claim he does not want a big fuss made.

But there will be a special opportunity to acknowledge the manager during a series of awards and lap of honour after the game.

“The Hammer of the Year award will be presented to Jarrod Bowen at full-time, among other end-of-season prizes,” Whetstone said.

“The squad and backroom staff will do a lap of the pitch with their families to thank West Ham supporters for their backing.

“Fans will also have the opportunity to bid farewell to manager David Moyes, who will be taking charge of his final match at London Stadium, so make sure you stay in your seats after the final whistle.”

Look out for new addition at London Stadium

West Ham fans should also be on the lookout for a new feature at the stadium this weekend.

Following a limited trial at the last game, Boxbar Tech rolled out a new Fast Track Bar machine at the ground.

Whetstone has shared pictures of the machines which are three-bank all-in-one terminals to help with the halftime drinks rush.

The machines enable fans to self serve, getting super fast pints with all stock held within the machine.

Images of the machines in place are in the post below.
