Liverpool have a number of players with uncertain futures this summer and Stan Collymore feels one star has got a big decision to make.
The Reds have contract situations to sort out with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Further, there’s also going to be new players coming in as Arne Slot looks to put his stamp on proceedings.
Of course, any new players coming in could put pressure on those already in the squad. A number of Reds players have had up and down seasons and in the dressing room, there’ll be a few nervy faces about Slot’s arrival.

One of those players to have highs and lows is Uruguayan striker, Darwin Nunez. The forward has been left out in three of the last four games and hasn’t scored in six.
And amid interest from Barcelona, former Red Stan Collymore has issued some advice for Nunez.

Writing in his latest column for CaughtOffside, Collymore suggested sympathy for Nunez but insisted a decision needs to be reached.
“I’ve been a high-profile signing at Liverpool, for a club and national record transfer fee no less,” Collymore said. “The pressure is relentless, the media constant, every game micro-analysed and fans used to winning a lot always on your back when the going isn’t so good.
“So, I understand what Darwin Nunez is going through. The only question I’d ask him face to face, and one I answered in my own mind was, ‘Do you feel you are good enough to score enough goals and create enough chances for your teammates?’.
“If he’s honest, he’ll know whether to stick or twist with the Reds and a new manager, as well as those doubting his ability. Is he a [Robbie], Fowler, [Ian] Rush, [Fernando] Torres, Mo or [Luis] Suarez? No, of course not, but only he can answer whether he can do it or not.
“Me? I had to completely change my game to adapt to Robbie Fowler who I knew would outscore me. So, I created a lot for him while scoring at a good rate, too.
“If Nunez can do that then he has a chance to be a resounding success for several years at Liverpool. But if he doesn’t, then for him and the club he’s better off moving because there’s nowhere to hide at Liverpool and the intensity of the analysis isn’t going anywhere.”

That’s not to say Jurgen Klopp hasn’t been a big advocate for Nunez or given him opportunities, but a new voice and face in the dugout could help massively.
There might be slight tweaks to the system or how Arne Slot wants Nunez to play and with that, Liverpool and the player himself might reap the rewards.
Slot has got the best out of players like Santiago Gimenez at Feyenoord and turned him into one of Europe’s most in-demand forwards.
Nunez, then, if he stays put, will be hoping for a similar sort of pattern to emerge.
