Woman indicted in fatal stabbing of 66-year-old man at N.J. home they shared

A woman was indicted by a grand jury on Thursday in the fatal stabbing of a 66-year-old man that occurred earlier this year at a home they shared together.

Domonique Preston, 45, of Raritan, was indicted on first-degree murder and weapons offenses related to the knife used in the killing, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office said on Friday.

A 911 call at 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 21 reported the stabbing had occurred at a home on Manchester Road in Raritan. Police responded to the residence and found the victim, Steven Spivey, who had sustained a stab wound to the area around the left shoulder, authorities said. He was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said.

Preston was arrested on the scene. Prosecutors said the two lived in the home together, but did not specify what their relationship was.

Preston is being held in Warren County Correctional Facility pending her trial. She is represented by a public defender.
