Report: 26-yo former Chelsea ace who's been injured for 494 days since 2020 is keen on West Ham

So it seems like West Ham United could finally get our hands on Roma striker Tammy Abraham.

Tammy Abraham has been a target for West Ham for years now, and he was close to joining us from Chelsea before he eventually moved to Roma in 2021.

The 26-year-old has been a success with Roma on the whole, although he has been out injured for almost the entire 2023/24 season after picking up an ACL injury last summer.

However, Abraham has just returned to action for the Serie A side, and with only two years left on his current with with the Serie A side, he could be set for a Premier League return this summer…

Graeme Baily told HITC that Tammy Abraham is open to a move to the London Stadium this summer.

The thought of returning to the Premier League from Serie A is allegedly an appealing one to the 26-year-old.

So could the Hammers be set to make a move for the Londoner?

Tammy Abraham to West Ham transfer potentially on

The Camberwell-born hitman has been a consistent goalscorer throughout his career in football to date.

He has bagged 127 goals in 325 senior career games, and is clearly a very good player on his day. However, a big word of warning – he has missed 494 days of actions due to six different types of injury since the 2019/20 season (Transfermarkt).

Not many footballers return from ACL injuries as the same player, and there is a good chance that Tammy would have lost his pace and explosiveness.

I would suggest that West Ham avoid a move to sign Tammy Abraham this summer, even if he is indeed keen to move back to London.

There are far better options out there in my opinion, including the likes of Dominic Solanke and Youssef En-Nesyri.

That said, if Abraham is fully fit and does recover his speed, I wouldn’t be disappointed if the Hammers did sign him.
