Agent of 'spectacular' Real Madrid star claims there's 'nothing decided' over his future

Real Madrid are set for a busy transfer window in terms of recruitment, but this could mean some key players depart.

Los Blancos are set to announce the arrival of Kylian Mbappe after this season has ended, and he will also be joined by Brazilian sensation Endrick.

Long-serving defender Nacho is now set to leave, and another legend could end up departing in midfielder Luka Modric.

The 38-year-old is coming towards the end of his career, and whilst he is no longer a starter, he still brings a lot of quality and experience to the Real Madrid squad.

Carlo Ancelotti is not short of options in midfield, and with Toni Kroos now also set to stay, the veteran could move on once his contract expires at the end of the season.

Luka Modric’s agent gives update over his Real Madrid future

Speaking to Koora, Modric’s agent Vlado Lemic has now revealed that any decision over Modric’s future will be discussed at the end of the season.

“So far there’s nothing decided for Luka’s future at Real Madrid – but it will be clear next week,” he stated.

“Real Madrid remains Modric’s place so we will decide together what’s the best solution.”

Modric has made 43 appearances this season, with 21 of those coming from the bench, and given the competition in the Real Madrid midfield, an exit after the Champions League final may be tempting for both parties.

Keeping Modric would have its advantages given the experience he can bring to the squad, but there is an argument suggesting that leaving would give younger players more opportunities.

Ancelotti has described Modric as “spectacular,” and there is no question over the quality he can provide at his best.

Arda Guler has missed most of the season through injury, but could use next season to show why Real Madrid chose to sign him from Fenerbahce. He would gain more opportunities in attacking midfield if Modric was to leave, but question marks remain over his fitness.

It is also unclear whether Modric would accept a reduced role over a move away, possibly to MLS, but should he choose to leave, he could depart in the perfect way if Real Madrid win yet another Champions League in the upcoming final with Borussia Dortmund.
